    One of the Mayor’s top priorities is increasing the city’s population to one million residents. To achieve this, his administration is focusing on initiatives to reduce barriers to housing development, create walkable neighborhoods, and provide various housing options.

    Public safety is another significant focus for the Mayor, with continued efforts underway to reduce crime and improve community relations with law enforcement. He highlighted positive trends in crime reduction, initiatives to address reckless driving, and efforts to enhance emergency response services.

    The city is also addressing environmental sustainability with initiatives to reduce energy consumption and promote alternative transportation options. Mayor Johnson highlighted the Bright Line streetlighting project and efforts to expand bike lanes.

    The Mayor discussed how investments in affordable housing and neighborhood revitalization are critical to the city’s growth strategy. He shared programs such as Homes MKE, which aims to convert city-owned properties into affordable residences, and the Raze and Revive program to eliminate blighted properties.
