Louisville Mayor Craig Greenberg gave his State of the City Address, confirming that the city is becoming a safer, stronger, and healthier community for all who call it home.
Mayor Greenberg remains focused on public safety, highlighting a decrease in homicides, non-fatal shootings, and carjackings in 2023. To continue combatting violent crime, he shared multi-level efforts that are making a difference, including the Summit Wellness Center, the Crisis Call Diversion Program, and the Group Violence Intervention Program.
The Mayor shared his work with community partners to create My Louisville Home Plan, a first-of-its-kind strategy to create and preserve 15,000 affordable homes. Additionally, his administration is working to make the Affordable Housing Trust Fund a permanent revolving loan fund, collaborating with state and local leaders on state laws and zoning ordinances and continuing progress at the Community Care Campus.
Early education is also a priority for Mayor Greenberg, and his administration is collaborating with experts to deliver free, high-quality pre-kindergarten to every 3- and 4-year-old in Louisville.
The Mayor celebrated a strong economy, with more than $1 billion in investment and 2,300 new jobs announced last year. His administration has also elevated the Offices of Equity and Sustainability to ensure Louisville’s 100% clean electricity goal by 2030.
