In his State of the City Address, Mayor Jim Penniman-Morin emphasized Cedar Park’s commitment to people-focused, patient growth and underscored that the city’s progress is rooted in thoughtful planning, long-term strategy, and a strong sense of community.
Mayor Penniman-Morin celebrated Cedar Park’s continued leadership in public safety and service delivery, noting the city’s recognition as one of the safest cities in Central Texas, ongoing investments in police and fire staffing, and the construction of the Joint Public Safety Training Center. He also highlighted innovative efforts to support residents and city employees through modernized operations and creative partnerships that improve outcomes.
Looking ahead, the Mayor outlined continued investments in livability, sense of place, and economic vitality, including new recreation and parks projects, activation of the Bell District, and major development along New Hope Drive. He also highlighted progress on transportation and mobility, including trail expansion, roadway improvements, and a proposed microtransit pilot program designed to improve access, enhance safety, and better connect residents across Cedar Park.
