Mayor Woodfin outlined several initiatives to foster literacy and educational attainment from early childhood to high school. Programs such as the Birmingham Talks focus on early literacy development, while Page Pals provides tutoring for third-grade students to improve literacy outcomes.
The Mayor addressed public safety efforts, acknowledging the city’s progress in reducing homicides in 2023 and taking nearly 17,000 illegal guns off the street during his administration.
