    Hoboken, New Jersey

Hoboken Mayor Ravi Bhalla delivered his State of the City Address at the Mile Square Theatre, focusing on housing and environmental justice, Hoboken’s ongoing resiliency efforts, and renewed efforts to allow seniors to age in place.

Mayor Bhalla emphasized the importance of housing as a human right and unveiled a major redevelopment plan for the Hoboken Housing Authority (HHA). He highlighted recent redevelopment agreements to increase affordable housing stock, including a project near Hoboken Terminal with a 20% affordable housing set aside.

Mayor Bhalla underscored the city’s efforts to address climate change and environmental justice, citing resiliency projects such as Harborside Park and ResilienCity Park. He emphasized the city’s commitment to carbon neutrality by 2050 through initiatives such as the Hoboken Community Solar Program and on-street EV charging stations.
