    Everett Mayor Cassie Franklin delivered her State of the City Address, reflecting on key moments in Everett’s history, celebrating how far the city has come and shared the opportunities ahead and the importance of working towards a better tomorrow.

    Mayor Franklin spoke about the multipurpose outdoor facility being considered and reaffirmed the city’s continued support and commitment to keeping the AquaSox in Everett. The options under consideration are remodeling Funko Field, building a new stadium at the Funko Field site, or building a new stadium downtown.

    She announced the launch of a new emergency mobile opioid treatment pilot program, which will bring addiction treatment to those who need it most, as well as plans to create an alternate response program, adding a new option for how Everett responds to calls for service involving individuals experiencing a behavioral health crisis.

    Mayor Franklin also highlighted some of the many accomplishments made over 2023, including launching a violent crime unit, completing the Silver Lake trail, expanding the embedded social worker team, supporting early childhood education, replacing critical water infrastructure, and moving closer to transit.
