Mayor Justin M. Bibb – Cleveland, OH

As Cleveland’s 58th Mayor, Justin M. Bibb has served since 2021 with a commitment to delivering high-quality city services, modernizing municipal government, and leading transformative change that puts Clevelanders first.

Since taking office, Mayor Bibb has launched initiatives that are reshaping Cleveland’s future. His Southeast Side Promise program is directing major investments into long-neglected neighborhoods, while a $100 million housing fund is expanding affordable housing options for working families. He created the Home for Every Neighbor initiative, which has already placed more than 100 unsheltered residents in permanent housing, and advanced the Residents First agenda to protect tenants from predatory landlords. Public safety has also been a top priority under his Raising Investment in Safety for Everyone (RISE) initiative, which has combined community partnerships, smart technology, and targeted investments to reduce homicides by 36% while achieving record levels of police recruitment.

Mayor Bibb is also committed to reconnecting Clevelanders with the city’s greatest natural assets—its waterfronts. He secured more than $150 million in state and federal funding to transform access to Lake Erie and led the development of a resident-driven lakefront master plan. His $5 billion Shore-to-Core-to-Shore plan, one of the most ambitious redevelopment efforts in the city’s history, is reimagining downtown and the Cuyahoga Riverfront to foster economic growth, environmental stewardship, and community vibrancy.

Nationally, Mayor Bibb serves as a national co-chair of Mayors Against Illegal Guns, pushing for common-sense gun safety reforms, and plays a leading role in climate action as co-chair of America is All In and chair emeritus of the bipartisan Climate Mayors network.

Before becoming Mayor, Bibb worked for President Barack Obama during his time in the U.S. Senate, served as an education and economic policy advisor for Cuyahoga County, and held leadership roles at Gallup, KeyBank, and Urbanova, focusing on civic innovation and data-driven strategies to improve quality of life in cities. A native of the Mt. Pleasant neighborhood, Mayor Bibb is a proud graduate of American University with a degree in Urban Studies. He pursued advanced studies in social policy and economics at the London School of Economics and earned both a Master of Business Administration (MBA) and a Juris Doctor (JD) from Case Western Reserve University.
