Democratic Mayors Association Commends the Passage of the CHIPS Act in the Senate
WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Democratic Mayors Association (DMA) President Mayor Levar M. Stoney issued the following statement in response to the passage of the CHIPS Act in the U.S. Senate:
“We applaud the coalition of Senators who passed the CHIPS Act, which will help our nation make critical investments in semiconductor manufacturing, domestic supply chains, and America’s global competitiveness. This legislation is essential to creating more good-paying jobs in the U.S., lowering costs for families, and strengthening our national and economic security. The CHIPS Act also drives important investments in research and development, which is crucial to advancing America’s future innovation. Democratic Mayors urge the House to move forward with this urgent legislation without delay.”
