Statement from DMA on Shooting By Federal Agents in Minneapolis
Washington, D.C. – Today, the Democratic Mayors Association shared the statement following federal agents shooting and killing another citizen in Minneapolis:
“Today’s killing of a civilian by a federal agent is an atrocity. This invasion of untrained, militarized federal officers into our cities must stop— and ICE must leave Minneapolis now. We have seen children as young as two-years-old detained, and now multiple citizens killed because of President Trump’s overreach and intimidation. There must be a full investigation into what happened, and full accountability and oversight over ICE. The Democratic Mayors Association stands with Mayor Frey as he works to protect his residents and return his community to some sense of normalcy among the chaos and mayhem thrust upon them.”
