    In her seventh State of the City Address, Mayor Lauren McLean emphasized the progress the city of Boise has made in creating a city for everyone. The Mayor also highlighted the progress the community has made in affordable housing, public safety, transportation, and quality-of-life investments while working to preserve the sense of belonging and opportunity that residents value.

    The Mayor’s remarks focused on local government listening and delivering, as the closest body of government serving residents. Mayor McLean gave several examples of listening to residents as Boise grows and working in partnership to deliver abundant housing, essential services, family-wage jobs, and a life of opportunity in Boise. She celebrated recent milestones, including delivering 10,000 new homes over the last six years, fully funding the Supportive Housing Investment Fund, increasing traffic safety measures, investing in parks and pathways, and expanding opportunity for Boise’s young residents through the Youth Roadmap.

    Mayor McLean shared what residents can expect to see in the upcoming year, including groundbreaking for a new concourse at the airport, seed funding for West Boise library access, deeper engagement with local businesses, a new City Hall in Your Neighborhood program, and expanded access to parks, pathways, and open spaces. She emphasized that the city’s work ahead will continue focusing on building connected neighborhoods, supporting local businesses, and ensuring Boise remains a safe and welcoming city as it grows.
