Mayors Deliver.

Cities Matter

$2T in local budgets are controlled by America’s mayors.
90% of America’s GDP comes from
its metro areas.
8/10 of the top 10 metro economies
are led by Democratic mayors, producing almost 1/2 of U.S. GDP.

Democratic Mayors are not just local officials—they are national leaders moving our country forward.

At a time when gridlock and partisanship often dominate the national conversation, Democratic Mayors are standing out as the leaders who are actually getting things done. They are driving bold, pragmatic progress in the places where it matters most—where people live, work, raise families, and build their futures.

From tackling the housing crisis, building safer communities, investing in infrastructure, and creating good-paying jobs, Democratic Mayors are delivering real results every day. They are trusted, tested, and uniquely positioned to meet the urgent needs of today while fighting for a better future. Mayors aren’t waiting for permission to lead—they are shaping the future of their communities, their regions and the nation now.

Notable Wins

Democratic Mayors are leading on infrastructure, economic development, environment, energy, public safety, technology, housing, and so much more.

  • Under the leadership of Phoenix Mayor Kate Gallego, the city has created or preserved more than 53,000 housing units throughout the city, five years ahead of its goal.
  • Baltimore Mayor Brandon M. Scott has achieved historic reductions in violent crime, recording the fewest homicides in over 50 years.
  • Under Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson’s leadership, the city achieved its goal of transitioning all city facilities and operations to 100% renewable energy. Through these actions, Chicago has become one of the largest cities in the U.S., sourcing the power for its operations from renewable energy.
  • Under Tampa Mayor Jane Castor’s leadership, the city is undergoing the most extensive infrastructure overhaul in its history. Tampa is making critical upgrades across several sectors, including stormwater improvement projects, modernizing wastewater systems, repaving roads, facility upgrades, and many more impactful projects.
  • Under Denver Mayor Mike Johnston’s leadership, the community has ended the cycle of street homelessness for veterans, ensuring every veteran has access to a safe, stable, and private place to sleep at night.
  • Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass is building a greener future with the completion of one of the largest solar and battery storage projects in the country. The Eland Project will power over 266,000 homes and help LA reach 100% clean energy by 2035.
Democratic Mayors will never stop fighting to protect and strengthen their communities because that’s what they do — they get things done.
