DMA is the national organization representing Democratic mayors of cities with populations of 30,000 or more. The association exists to support, connect, and elevate mayors as they tackle the most pressing challenges facing communities — from housing affordability and public safety to economic growth, infrastructure, and equity.
As the only organization solely dedicated to supporting and electing Democratic mayors and mayoral candidates, DMA plays a critical role in strengthening local leadership and advancing Democratic values nationwide. Democratic mayors are on the front lines translating those values into action in the places where people live, work, and raise families.
“Democratic mayors are proving every day that local leadership works,” said Virginia Mayer, Executive Director of the Democratic Mayors Association. “This new Board reflects the strength and diversity of mayors across the country who are delivering real results for their residents and helping shape a more inclusive, prosperous future for our cities.”
The newly announced Board will help guide DMA’s work to support and elect Democratic mayors, elevate best practices and innovative solutions from cities, and amplify the voices of mayors as essential leaders within the Democratic Party.
The 2026-2027 Executive Board is:
President – Mayor Quinton Lucas, Kansas City, MO
