Democratic Mayors Support Governor Tim Walz as the Vice President Nominee

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Democratic Mayors Association issued the following statement following the announcement of Governor Tim Walz as the Vice President nominee for the Kamala Harris for President campaign:

“Democratic Mayors are proud to support Governor Tim Walz as Kamala Harris’ Vice President nominee. As governor, he has been a true champion for the people of Minnesota, delivering meaningful results and strengthening communities across his state. He has made historic investments in education, prioritized protecting reproductive freedoms, improved public health and safety, strengthened workers’ rights, expanded voting rights, lowered prescription drug costs, protected the environment, and so much more. Walz is a true public servant who is committed to uplifting workers and families. This is evident in his time not only as Governor but also as a veteran, former U.S. House of Representatives member, and teacher. He will help Kamala Harris unite the American people while protecting our democracy and defending our fundamental rights and freedoms. Together, they will continue to move our country forward and defeat Trump and his extreme agenda this November.”
