Democratic Mayors Association Statement on the 2024 Presidential Election

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Democratic Mayors Association issued the following statement at the conclusion of the 2024 Presidential Election:

“The Democratic Mayors Association offers its deepest gratitude to Vice President Kamala Harris and Governor Tim Walz for their steadfast dedication to the campaign this year and tireless efforts to move our country forward. Vice President Harris, Gov. Walz, their families, and staff showed America what an inspiring campaign looks like, built on fact, not fiction, unity, and passion, leading with a clear vision to address the nation’s most pressing challenges and create opportunity for all.

While we are very disappointed in the outcome of this election, we respect the results. We will work with the incoming Administration to advance priorities that move our cities forward. As Mayors, we know how to get things done, and no matter the challenges ahead, we will continue the hard work with partners who share our vision for a united country. We will continue forging partnerships that advance the change our country needs and deserves. The fight for our democracy and freedoms is not over; it is only magnified by this week's results, and we are fully committed to building a stronger, more equitable country for every American.”
